Purpose Begins in Christ

In my last post, I talked about the need to be more conscious that we were created for and with purpose. I also shared about the need to shun distractions and focus on what matters because the time is short.

Today, I would like to take the conversation further by emphasizing on the man created for purpose.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10

This scripture defines the man who is created in Christ Jesus as the one who was made for good works in other words, purpose. This is one defining point when thinking about purpose. Am I in Christ Jesus?

Now, to the big question: who is that man who is created in Christ Jesus?

It is him who has believed in the sacrifice of Jesus (death, burial and resurrection) on the cross, and confessed with his mouth his belief in the Lord Jesus.

“…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

It is only this man that can fulfil purpose. It is him who is God’s masterpiece. His workmanship. His handiwork. Why is that so? Because only the one who has been created in Him can know and walk in the good works He prepared, just as the Creator, God Himself intended. If a father wanted to ensure his family business transcends generations, he would need to raise an heir who would think, know, understand and act like the father to protect the family name.

So, the question is: Are you in Christ Jesus?

Then God has you as His masterpiece and you were created for purpose.

If you’re not, here’s what to do: confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
